About the director

Do The Work is a production company for Australian writer Amanda Ducker’s editorial & creative projects. These include features journalism & travel writing, documentary filmmaking, magazine production, copy editing and multi-day writing retreats.

Do The Work is the creator and co-producer of The Pledge, a feature-length documentary in development. Other works in progress include two non-fiction books: a culture-crossing memoir of motherhood and an illustrated book for all ages. Graziher magazine publishes Amanda’s articles on women doing things differently on the land. Do The Work brings editorial expertise to commissions from value-aligned clients and collaborators.

Amanda is a former features editor of Vogue Australia and the founding editor of TasWeekend magazine in Hobart. She completed her journalism training on The Australian newspaper in Sydney. Leading mastheads have consistently published Amanda’s work for three decades. Amanda hails from Anaiwan/ Gamilaroi country in Northern NSW. She has lived in Sydney and Paris and now lives in lutruwita/Tasmania with her family.
